How to register at Tell A Bot

We did our best to make the process of registering a Tell A Bot account for SMS verification as simple and straightforward as possible, so there might not even be a need for this article. Still, there are a few important things that need to be pointed out.

After watching this video:

you may still have some questions left.

Why do I need to input my IM?

Many people prefer not to leave their actual instant messenger handle, and we are ok with that. In fact, the IM field is not actively verified. However, it is still advised that you input your real IM handle so we can use it as an alternative way to contact you in case there is ever a need for that.

Why do I need to input my email?

We do respect and encourage user privacy, but having a real working email is a must. There are critical actions on the platform that need confirmation:

  • changing a password
  • changing an email associated with your account
  • generating or changing an API key

We need to make sure that only the user who originally opened the account and has access to the email will be able to perform these actions.

There was no email confirmation link. I looked in the SPAM folder, but still nothing.

Unfortunately, there are some email providers that simply do not want to accept messages from Tell A Bot. Generally, Gmail works well, so you can try creating an account using a Gmail address.
